William "Bill" Adkins, Sr, CHPA is a long time medical imaging professional with over 45 years in the trade. He has worked for Philips Medical Systems as a Field Service Engineer, Sales Representative, District Service Manager, and Regional Operations Manager. Bill also worked at Duke University Medical Center as the Radiology Equipment Manager during the expansion into the Duke Hospital North Facility. Bill's hands on experience includes Cardiac Cathlabs, CT Scanners, Digital Imaging, Linear Accelerators, Facility Design, Technical Writing, Technical Training, and Technical Support. For the past 25 years he has owned and operated National X-Ray Corporation in Palmetto, FL providing domestic and international sales, service, parts, and technical support of medical imaging equipment.
Kay M. Adkins, BSRS (RT-R-CT) She earned an Associate in Applied Science in Radiology from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Institute in Asheville, NC and a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences from Adventist University in Orlando, Florida. She has worked in the Medical Imaging field for 46 years. During that time, she has worked in Mammography, Ultrasound, and Interventional Radiology. Kay holds the distinction of operating the original EMI CT Scanner at Duke University Medical Center. She has been the Administrative Director of Imaging at 2 local hospitals and has been in that role at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota for the past 17 years. During this time, she also served as the CFO and senior technical advisor of National X-ray Corporation for 25 years.
She is a General Class Amateur Radio operator.
She has been on the board of directors of the American Cancer Society of Sarasota County and has served as chairperson for several Relay for Life events. She has been the team captain for many years for the Making Strides against Brest Cancer event in Sarasota. She has been a speaker, hospital chairperson, and fundraiser for the Sarasota County American Heart Association. She has organized and held several successful fundraising events for chapter 110 of the Disabled American Veterans. She is also a recent inductee into the George Mercer Brooke Chapter of the DAR.
